Includes resolutions, newspaper articles, and documents related to the opposition of Portland area institutions - specifically the Metropolitan Human Relations Commission (MHRC) - to the racial polcies of South Africa's Apartheid government. Includes a resolution stating that in no event will the City of Portland or Multnomah County invest knowingly in any firm that conducts business operations in South Africa. Also includes MHRC support for House Bill 2772, HR 2957, and HR 3231, which all relate to restriction and withdrawal of state funds and business activities in South Africa and other such nations which discriminate on the basis of race.
