An article regarding events in Seattle : an upcoming primary election, a strike of the newspaper guild against Hearst's Post - Intelligence entering its fourth week and the paper shut down and Mayor John F. Dore throwing a challenge at Seattle business men who threaten his recall. The article explains that much talk of Dore's recall is because of his avowed allegiance to the ranks of organized labor ; his refusal to break up a picket line at the P. I. plant ; his stand that policemen paid by taxpayers are not to use their clubs and guns to break strikes of workingmen, has turned many business men against him. Also includes an editorial that is not in favor of pardoning Dirk De Jonge. The author states that De Jonge is in the penitentiary in America but in Russia for his act, he would be in eternity.
