Two articles regarding talks given by Dr. Harry Ward. Ward was national secretary of the Methodist Federation for Social Service and chairman of the American Civil Liberties union. Dr. Ward warned about the danger of reactionary forces, the need to fight fascism, labor unity and he stated that the use of espionage and armaments in industry was likely to lead to a democratic breakdown. Also includes a letter to the editor from Alexander Monroe that explains his difficulty in attaining a job because he is not part of a union. Monore asks rhetorically, "Why should we have to pay for the privilege to work?"
