An article regarding an address by National Legion Commander Ray Murphy to the state Legion convention in Roseburg. Murphy cooled off fear of revolution, warned against mistaking progress for something "red," and urged Oregon Legionnaires to get behind the American Legion's universal service bill. Also includes a news clipping regarding the withdrawal of Willard Stevens, the third party candidate for the legislature. Stevens withdrew after the Farmer-labor party was charged as being communistic. Letha W. Stripling also withdrew from the legislative race.
