A letter sent from Cameron Squires asking for a $20.00 donation for the Multnomah Tax Economy League. In the letter Squires explains that the League wants to repeal an amendment that grants additional salaries for policemen and firemen. A second letter from S. J. Bischoff responding to the Squires letter, telling him that while it is difficult for him to pay taxes when times are hard, he prefers to carry his share of the burden rather than to deprive men, women and children of bare necessities of life in order to save a few dollars.
