Portland’s City Code consists of laws passed and amended by ordinances (formal documents passed by City Council which carry the binding force of law) or by voter-approved measure. City Code is organized into Titles, Chapters and Sections. The Portland City Code Collection contains City Code amendments from 1969-2010. The Code Indexes Series contains general indexes for code for years circa 1940s to 1950s and 1969. It is arranged chronologically. The Revised Code Replacement Pages Series contains pages removed to be replaced by amended or updated code. This series is arranged chronologically at the box and folder level and by Title at the item level. The Whole Code Revisions Series contains reprints of the entire city code. This series is organized chronologically.
