Contains news clippings of Portland outdoor statues, 1951 - 1968, and correspondence on an inquiry about the Monument Fund Second Oregon Regiment and the cleaning of Riverview Cemetery. Statues featured in news clippings include : Abraham Lincoln ; Thomas Jefferson ; Benjamin Franklin ; Faces of Portland ; Mary, Our Mother ; "Coming of the White Man" ; Joan of Arc or Jeanne D' Arc ; George Washington ; Lion and Lioness ;Theodore Roosevelt ; "Pioneer Woman" or "Joy" ; "Running Man" ; "Pieta" at the Grotto ; and "Rebecca at the Well." Also includes a typescript list of Council agenda items pertaining to the acceptance of the George Washington statue as a gift, 13 August 1924 to 31 December 1924.
