Photograph is in the book Portland Fire and Rescue on page 41.The large sign says Vote-X-Yes for the Two Platoon Ballot No. 102 Firemen's Two Platoon Comm Mar 179. Although they did not win their campaign in the special election of 1917, they did win the following year in 1918.
