Ticket for Chief Dowell and guest to the Sunset Theater in New York City
The ticket is for a private opening, most likely the grand reopening after the theater was rebuilt. The Sunset Theater was located in the Sunset Park section of Brooklyn. It was a couple of blocks away from the Park Theatre. Operating as the Vaudeau Theater in 1908, it was rebuilt as the Sunset Theater in 1914. A Robert Morton 2 manual/ 3 rank theatre organ was installed in 1924. It was closed on July 2, 1950 and was gutted and converted into retail space.
