INVENTORY OF FOUNTAINS, STATUES & MONUMENTS

This series is a result of an inventory of municipal fountains, statues and monuments conducted in 1968, and contains copies of material dating from 1877. The file on each structure includes a physical description and photograph, as well as a map of its exact location. Historical data, ordinances, and newspaper articles summarize the circumstances of erection of the memorials and of the city's acquisition by donation or purchase. The files are arranged by type of memorial: drinking fountains, plaques, and statues; and alphabetically by name of memorial within each type. Permanent
