Includes early correspondence regarding the placement of a fountain (1885), a request for a drinking fountain on the corner of Pittsburg and Albany Streets in St. Johns (1923), a letter to city council protesting against the removal of a drinking fountain on SW Montgomery Dr and Vista Ave (1924), a petition from the Woodlawn District requesting a drinking fountain on the corner of Dekum and Durham Ave (1931), correspondence from the Arbor Lodge Community Club requesting maintenance of the Forestry Building (1934), a request from the Daughters of Union Veterans requesting permission to place a memorial near the Lincoln Statue in the Park Blocks (1935), and correspondence concerning the flow and sanitary conditions of Benson Bubblers (1935). Also contains a transcript of a 1968 City Hall Report on Portland's historical inventory, a 1974 list of antique items being stored by the city, a 1968 list of "Lang Syne markers" throughout the city, and information on propositions to publish a book on Portland monuments.
