Date is circa. Milwaukee fire officials. The following information was taken from the article on the same page. Janssen was killed in action at the Third Ward Conflagration of October 28, 1892. The cause of his death is not known, but judging from the position that the body was found in it is not thought that his death was a prolonged one. The body was pinioned down by the ruins of the timbers of the galleries and it is a question whether death did not follow instantly with the roof's collapse. It is not thought that he burned to death and the general theory is that he was crushed and suffocated. The article also includes other casualties from the same fire.
