Date Address Address Address Dear ___________, What could be better than spending a late-summer Sunday afternoon in a park by the river? The Cascades will provide the river, the summer will provide the sun (we hope)—and we’ll provide an unprecedented opportunity for you to share information with thousands of Portlanders about connecting with the River. Riverfest is a brand new event scheduled for August 28 through September 7. Our theme is, “The Willamette: Respect, Reconnect, Renew.” A key part of our event is the Community Fair—a venue designed specifically for sharing information about the river (its history, ecology, economy) and how to connect with it (riverfront businesses and attractions, tours and trails, volunteer opportunities). [You/your organization] immediately came to mind as someone with a story to tell about the River. We hope the enclosed invitation to join the Community Fair will be persuasive—we’d love it if you could participate. The Community Fair will be on Labor Day Sunday, August 31st. We plan on covering costs by charging for participation—but you’ll note we have a sliding scale of between $75 and $350. We hope this flexible approach will assure broad participation—everything from non-profits or start-ups, all the way to more established organizations that may have a greater ability to pay. We welcome the opportunity to talk with you and mutually agree on a deal that works for you. Hope to see you there!
Sincerely,
