RE:    Filing of Candidacy, City of Portland Commissioner, Position No. 2

   Sharon Maxwell

Dear Ms. Maxwell,

On December 11, 2013, you submitted a completed nominating petition for candidacy for nonpartisan nomination for the office of City of Portland Commissioner, Position No. 2. I conducted a review of the signature sheets and certified that petition ID PDX 07 met all the requirements in accordance with OAR 165-014-0270. After being informed the petition did not have the required number of valid signatures as verified by Multnomah County, you submitted additional sheets and Multnomah County Elections Division conducted the signature verification process and certified an additional 13 signatures required to file by nominating petition.

I have verified that the residency address on your filing forms is within the limits of the City of Portland. Multnomah County Elections Division verified that you are an active voter within the City of Portland since 2002. You have met the requirements to file for the office of City of Portland Commissioner, Position No. 2 in the 2014 Primary Election and your name will be included on the ballot.

If you would like to have your name included in the Voter’s Pamphlet, you will need to contact each county’s election division (Washington, Clackamas and Multnomah), complete all necessary forms and pay the required fees by March 24th, 2014.

Your name will appear on the ballot unless you submit form SEL 150, Withdrawal of Candidacy or Nomination. You must submit this form to the City of Portland’s Election Division by March 14th, 2014 in order to withdraw your name from the ballot.

Please contact me with further questions.

Sincerely,

Deborah Scroggin

City Elections Officer
