Bureau of Planning and Sustainability staff will brief the Historic Landmarks Commission on the West Quadrant Plan on Monday, February 24. This project is a comprehensive update of the 1988 Central City Plan and is examining a range of land use, urban design, transportation, environmental and economic development issues in the western areas of the Central City. The plan area covers the Pearl District, Old Town/Chinatown, Downtown, the West End, Goose Hollow, South Downtown/University District and South Waterfront. Additional information and project documents can be found on the project web site:

Commissioner Emerick is a member of the project Stakeholder Advisory Committee, and Commissioners Richter and Matarazzo have also participated in the process at various points. At Monday’s briefing, staff will review the planning process to-date, identify next steps and highlight several historic preservation issues and potential directions that are being discussed through the process. We look forward to feedback from the Landmarks Commission.
