Making a Difference
I must nominate Marjorie McGee of Wowdhec for the advocacy award because her contribution to the disabled community has made a difference in the lives of many women, including my own.
Marjorie’s dedication to making disabled women self empowered through education and training resulted in several women becoming community health workers and they are giving back today throughout the city and state.
Marjorie also advocated for the disabled community to be represented in a Regional Emergency Preparedness Plan by writing a report that is now being used to formulate the new plan for Multnomah County.
Her contribution to the disabled community is huge and she defiantly deserves this award.
