Dear Erik,

Arthur Honeyman has been chosen to receive a posthumous 2009 “Making a Difference” in disability award in the Special Recognition category.

The “Making a Difference” in disability award recognizes Art’s outstanding contributions that have helped improve the livability of Portland for all people with disabilities.

On behalf of the City of Portland and the Portland Commission on Disability, I would like to extend to you and your guests an invitation to join us at 4:30pm on Wednesday, October 15th at the Connecting Communities event to be held at the Lloyd Center Doubletree hotel, where the award in honor of Art’s contribution will be presented.

Please let us know who will be accepting the award in Art’s honor. Please contact Teckla Anderson at (503) 823-3881 or teckla.anderson@ci.portland.or.us with that information.

The Connecting Communities event will run from 4:30pm – 7:30pm. The awards will be presented at approximately 5:30pm by members from the Portland City Council and Multnomah County Chair Wheeler. I am including a flyer regarding the event. Please RSVP by September 30th to Rebecca Clements at (503) 261-1266. Let her know that you are with the City of Portland “Making a Difference” awards.

We look forward to being able to honor Art for his part in making a difference in the lives of people with disabilities in the City of Portland.
