Dear Fix-It Fair Exhibitor,

Thank you for participating as an exhibitor at the January 22nd Fix-it Fair! Through a partnership with OSU Extension Office we are positive the first Fair of the millennium will be a marked success. We at the Portland Energy Office look forward to working with you and hope the following information will help you in preparing for the event.

Location:  Lee Elementary School, 2222 NE 92nd (92nd and Tillamook)

Set-up:  The exhibit area will be in Lee Elementary School’s cafeteria. The front doors, which face 92nd Street, will have a welcome banner hung directly above them. You may come as early as 7:30 for set-up. It is very important that you time your set-up to be complete and staffed by 8:30 as we have workshops scheduled to start at 9:00 AM.

Many Fair attendees will arrive early.

Exhibit Loading:  To unload materials enter through the main doors facing 92nd Street. The school has both on street parking and a lot. If you choose to unload your exhibit materials in the lot, as a courtesy to the Fair attendees, please move your vehicle to the street or the far end of the lot once your unloading is complete.

Early Set-up:  If you wish to set-up on Friday afternoon, please contact Jill Kolek at 823-7590 to make arrangements.

Check-in:  The advertised start for the Fair is 8:30 AM and take-down will be after 2:00 PM. Check-in with Jill or Sarah at the Fix-it Fair Greeting Table to get your table assignment.

Weather:  In case of inclement weather (snow or ice), please call the Energy Office at 823-7222. We will record a message with specific instructions regarding any changes in time, location or cancellation

Door Prize:  We will be awarding door prizes! Each Fair attendee will be given a passport, which will act at the prize entry form once it is fully stamped. Please bring a pen or a stamp to mark your portion of the passport. If you have a door prize(s) to donate please let us know prior to the Fair—call 823-7590.

Publicity:  Enclosed you will find the promotional materials you requested for the Fair. Please distribute them freely to get the word out. You may reproduce them, or if you’d like additional copies, call us.

About a week prior to the Fair we’ll be direct mailing invitational fliers to 25,000 households in Madison, Parkrose, Cully, Sumner and Rose City neighborhoods.

We are excited to announce that Pacific Power is hosting a Torchiere Turn-In exhibit. This is were Fair attendees can trade in their old energy guzzling halogen torchiere and get a $5 coupon good towards the purchase of a new cool ENERGY STAR rated model. If you have a halogen torchiere at home we encourage you to bring it to the Fair to retire it.

Thank you for participating in this Fix-it Fair. We are looking forward to working with you to create a fun, informative and well-attended community event. Call Jill Kolek at 823-7590 if you have questions, and see you there!

Sincerely,

Jill Kolek
