Dear Business Association President:
Marketers know that coupons increase sales and catch consumers interest in products. We would like to offer you a free advertising opportunity through our Fix-it-Fair Green Coupons, a unique way to get noticed in your neighborhood. The Fix-it-Fair is an energy conservation and home improvement fair at your local Whitaker Middle School on November 21, 1998. After surveying your neighbors, we found that consumers are interested in purchasing “green products” locally. To take advantage of this market and promote green products, we created the Fix-it-Fair Green Coupon for area businesses like yours.
The Green Coupon will be printed and distributed for free if your business gives a discount on a “green product.” We will print the coupon on our Fair brochure for the first five interested businesses and mail the 15,000 brochures at no cost to you. The Energy Office will also copy coupons and highlight your store at the Green Coupon display reaching 300-600 Fix-it-Fair participants. Free advertising, a new angle for your customers, right in your neighborhood!
You may be surprised at how many “green products” you have on your shelves. Green products are those that encourage energy efficiency, water conservation, waste reduction or recycling, transportation alternatives, or enhance native vegetation. For example, do you sell compact florescent light bulbs, recycled paper products, low-flow showerheads or bicycle products? If you’re a service business, does your service include reducing energy or water usage? If you are unsure what product to offer, we can help you decide on your best coupon options. Contact us by October 1 to get your coupon printed on our brochure and gain neighborhood distribution.
We want your involvement. Whether its offering brochures at your cash register, having a Fix-it-Fair poster on your bulletin board, or creating a Green Coupon, we are ready to work with you. We are looking forward to helping boost your sales and encouraging consumers to buy “green”. Feel free to give me a call at 823-7581 or call Curt Nichols at 823-7418 for more details.
Sincerely,
Angela Kremer
