Dear Partner:

The City of Portland’s fall Fix-it Fair promises to be both fun and valuable. Twenty-five experts will be on hand to answer questions and offer resources regarding everything from bicycle maintenance to composting, energy and water conservation to financing repair projects. In addition, twelve different free classes will take place. Attendees at the Water Conservation and Weatherization workshops can take home free water and energy saving materials.

The City’s Block-by-Block Weatherization program will also be represented at the Fix-it Fair. Portland residents who qualify can sign up at the Fair for free insulation services. This is a great opportunity for lower-income city residents to reduce utility bills and increase comfort this winter at no cost. Both renters and homeowners are eligible, but applicants must live in a duplex or single family home (no apartments).

I am enclosing brochures announcing the Fair. We would greatly appreciate your help spreading the word about this event. A second Fix-it Fair will take place on January 23 at Roosevelt High School (6941 N. Central). I will send you brochures about that Fair as we get closer to the date. If you do not wish to receive fliers for the January fair or if they should be directed to a different or additional person in your organization, please let me know. Also, please call if you want additional fliers or posters for either event, if you are interested in joining us as an exhibitor, or if you have ideas about how we might better get the word out.

Thank you for your help.

Sincerely,
