ORDINANCE No. 182510

 

Authorize a contract and provide for payment for the construction of the Foster Sewer Rehabilitation Project No. E08870 (Ordinance)

 

The City of Portland ordains:

 

Section 1.  The Council finds:

 

1.  Approximately 6700 linear feet of sewer pipe in and around the Woodstock/Foster – Powell neighborhoods are severely deteriorated..

 

2.  The Bureau of Environmental Services has prepared plans and specifications for replacing the deteriorated sewer mains, service laterals, and manholes.

3. The Bureau of Environmental Services requires the furnishing of materials and labor for this

project.

 4.  The established cost is $3,200,000. The level of confidence is optimal. Funds are available in the Sewer System Operating Fund, FY 2008-09 Budget, Bureau of Environmental Services, Cost Center ESEN000007, BES Job No E08870, Account No. 567000.

 

 

NOW, THEREFORE, the council directs:

 

 a.  The Commissioner of Public Affairs and Auditor are authorized to execute a contract with the lowest responsible bidder for the purpose described in Section 1.

 

 b.  The Mayor and Auditor are hereby authorized to draw and deliver warrants chargeable to the Sewer System Operating Fund Budget when demand is presented and approved by the proper authority.
