ORDINANCE No. 182496
* Donate used equipment to Nehalem Volunteer Fire Department. (Ordinance)
The City of Portland ordains:
Section 1. The Council finds:
1. Nehalem Volunteer Fire Department (NVFD) has need for an air unit and wildland firefighting camping equipment for its Department.
2. The Portland Fire & Rescue (PF&R) has replaced its air units and wildland firefighting camping equipment.
3. PF&R has a used 1986 GMC P-30 Step Van with air pump, with an estimated value of $7,000.
4. PF&R has used wildland firefighting camping equipment with an estimated value of $500.
5. PF&R would like to donate this equipment to NVFD, and NVFD has approved this donation.
NOW, THEREFORE, the Council directs:
a. The City of Portland, through Portland Fire & Rescue is authorized to donate used equipment to Nehalem Volunteer Fire Department.
Section 2. The Council declares that an emergency exists because it is important that the equipment reach NVFD in a timely manner; therefore, this ordinance shall be in force and effect from and after its passage by the Council.
