ORDINANCE No. 182500

 

Authorize an agreement with Peter M. Haviland for sanitary service and connection to a pressure pipeline at 5254 NE Emerson Dr, Project No. E07367 (Ordinance)

 

The City of Portland ordains:

 

Section 1.  The Council finds:

 

1.  The property is served by a Septic Tank Effluent Pumping Station (STEP) System. There is no gravity sewer available to this site.

 

2.  The City agreed to the sanitary sewer connection to the pressure pipeline that discharges into the City’s sewer collection and conveyance system.

 

3.  Per the State of Oregon, Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) rules, the City is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the pump system for this property. In order to meet the DEQ requirements, the City will provide the services for this connection, which include operation and maintenance services, engineering functions necessary to repair and replace components of the tank pumping, electrical and instrumentation systems, and regulatory management services to protect the system and the environment.

4.  The City agrees to accept this sewer connection in accordance with the terms of the agreement attached.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, the council directs:

 

 a.  The Director of the Bureau of Environmental Services is authorized to sign the agreement for the purpose described in Section 1.
