ORDINANCE No. 182469

*Accept a grant of $1,021,858 from the State of Oregon Office of Emergency Management for the initial analysis phase of the Portland Regional Radio Replacement Project (Ordinance)

The City of Portland ordains:

Section 1. The Council finds:

1.  The Office of Management and Finance (OMF) Citywide Projects applied to the State of Oregon’s Office of Emergency Management (OEM) for a grant in the amount of $1,021,858 for the initial analysis phase of the Portland Regional Replacement Project (Project) on May 2, 2008.

2.  The State of Oregon’s OEM has notified the City that it will award a grant for the initial analysis phase of the Project to OMF Citywide Projects in the amount of $1,021,858.

3.  This grant requires a match of up to $197,053. The required match will be provided in the form of project-related staff time, contractor payments or in-kind services by OMF Citywide Projects.

NOW, THEREFORE, THE Council directs:

a.  The Mayor is hereby authorized to accept, on behalf of the City, a grant from the OMF Citywide Projects for the initial analysis phase of the Project in the amount of $1,021,858.

b.  The fiscal year 2008/2009 budget is hereby amended as follows:

GRANTS FUND

Fund 217001 Business Area – MF00  Amount - $277,000

 

Section 2. The Council declares than an emergency exists because a delay would unnecessarily delay the City’s ability to perform the activities authorized by the grant; therefore, this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage by Council.
