ORDINANCE No. 181465

Amend contract with Graybar Electric Company, Inc. for a five year extension of Lucent maintenance and service support for the Integrated Regional Network Enterprise Project (Ordinance; amend Contract No. 40704)

The City of Portland ordains:

Section 1. The Council finds:

1.  The IRNE network project was approved by Council in the FY 2001-02 Budget.

2.  The IRNE network relies on a combination of City-owned fiber optic plant and leased telecommunications facilities to achieve connectivity to all City and partnered locations.

3.  The IRNE network required a carrier grade voice switch, voice mail system, and other network and customer equipment to provide voice and data services that was approved by Council under Ordinance no. 176220 and resultant City of Portland contract no. 40704.

4.  The carrier grade voice switch and related Lucent Equipment requires ongoing maintenance and support to maintain it in good working order.

5.  This Ordinance authorizes an amendment to City of Portland contract no. 40704 for five (5) subsequent years of services, at an estimated five (5) year total cost of $ 772,662.00. Invoices shall be paid annually in advance.

6.  This extension is within City policies and funds are available in the IRNE budget.

NOW, THEREFORE, the Council directs:

a.  The Mayor and Auditor are authorized to sign an Amendment to City of Portland contract no. 40704 with Graybar Electric Company, Inc. in substantially the form attached to the original of this Ordinance.
