ORDINANCE NO. 180738
* Authorize subrecipient contracts with Salvation Army and Northwest Pilot Project for $760,600 for the continued provision of homeless services and provide for payment (Ordinance)
The City of Portland ordains:
Section 1. The Council finds that:
1. The City is committed to providing public safety and homeless services.
2. Council specifically appropriated funding for emergency services for homeless women in the FY 2006-07 Fall BuMP.
3. Funding will allow for immediate and continued provision of essential services for homeless women through June 30, 2008.
4. Organizations to be funded that exceed $100,000 are:

Northwest Pilot Project Senior Women’s Outreach $120,000

NOW THEREFORE, the Council directs that:
a. The Bureau Director and City Auditor are hereby authorized to enter into and amend contracts with the attached list of contractors for $796,600 to assist homeless women.
b. The Mayor and Auditor are hereby authorized to draw and deliver warrants chargeable to the BHCD operating fund budget when demand is presented and approved by the property authority.
Section 2. The Council declares that an emergency exists because the program funds must be obligated within required timeframes; therefore this ordinance shall be in force and effect from and after its passage by Council.
