ORDINANCE No. 180729
* Authorize acquisition of vehicles for use by City bureaus. (Ordinance)
The City of Portland ordains:
SECTION 1. The Council finds:
1. The Council adopted Resolution 35960 to establish a policy for the acquisition of vehicles.
2. Resolution 35960 requires the CityFleet Division of the Office of Management and Finance to obtain the approval of the City Council before acquiring certain vehicles.
3. There is an immediate need for vehicles within the City.
NOW, THEREFORE, the Council directs:
a. The CityFleet Division of the Office of Management and Finance is hereby authorized to acquire the vehicles, per the listed requests identified in the attached Exhibit A.
SECTION 2. The Council declares that an emergency exists to prevent a delay in acquiring vehicles and the delivery of essential City services. The uncertainty of factory cut-off dates requires an accelerated procurement of vehicles through State Contract. Additionally, expediting vehicle procurement of the specialized equipment will reduce rental costs, increase safety, and improve productivity. Therefore, this ordinance shall be in force and in effect after its passage by the Council.
