ORDINANCE NO. 180728 AS AMENDED
* Amend fees associated with Fire regulations (Ordinance)
The City of Portland ordains:
Section 1. The Council finds:
1. FY 06-07 budget adoption included a $357,000 increase in revenue from Portland Fire & Rescue activities for the current fiscal year, and $714,000 increase for subsequent fiscal years.
2. After talking with affected business and property owners, staff has concluded that the increase is most equitably achieved by increasing fees for code enforcement inspection activity and public assembly permits.
3. PF&R is currently working with the Revenue Bureau to incorporate Code Enforcement Base Fee components into the Business License Fee structure.
NOW, THEREFORE, the Council directs:
A. Portland Policy Document FIR-12.01 is hereby amended as shown in Exhibit A.
B. Portland Fire & Rescue is directed to continue working with the Revenue Bureau to incorporate Code Enforcement Base Fee components into the Business License Fee structure.
C. This ordinance is binding City policy.
Section 2. The Council declares that an emergency exists because amendments to the fee structure are required to generate revenue as directed by Council during the 2006-2007 budget process; therefore, this ordinance shall be in force and effect from and after its passage by the Council.
