ORDINANCE No. 180723
*Amend the effective date of the Intergovernmental Agreement with Multnomah County for vector control services (Ordinance; amend Contract No. 52771)
The City of Portland ordains:
Section 1. The Council finds:
1. The Bureau of Environmental Services (BES)has an ongoing need for vector control services for the City’s wastewater and stormwater collection and treatment systems. These services include monitoring and control of rats and mosquitoes in the Bureau’s facilities, and citizen compliant investigation and response.
2. In October 2006, BES and Multnomah County executed an Intergovernmental Agreement for vector control services. Terms for services rendered are outlined in this Intergovernmental Agreement.
3. BES and Multnomah County wish to make the effective date of this agreement July 1, 2006. All other terms and conditions remain unchanged at this time.
NOW, THEREFORE, the council directs:
a. The Bureau Director and Auditor are authorized to execute an amendment to revise the effective date of the Intergovernmental Agreement with Multnomah County for vector control services to July 1, 2006 (Amend Ordinance 180487).
b. The Mayor and Auditor are hereby authorized to draw and deliver warrants chargeable to the Sewer System Operating Fund Budget when demand is presented and approved by the proper authority.
Section 2. The Council declares that an emergency exists because a delay might jeopardize important services to the public. Therefore, this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage by the Council.
