PSU/BES Community Watershed Stewardship IGA
Scope of Work FY 2006-2007
Portland State University Graduate Research Assistant (GRA) will work at the City of Portland, Environmental Services to perform the following:
Education
Assist with the development of community-based learning courses for student involvement in community watershed stewardship activities.
Coordinate with facilities regarding PSU Green Solution tours.
Attend relevant conferences as PSU/BES representative.
Research and Service
Develop and provide community service and research opportunities for faculty and students.
Coordinate, assess, and evaluate the Watershed Stewardship Grant Program
Produce annual report for 2003-2004 grants by October 31st, 2006.
Update maps, presentation, and summary report on all past grants by November 28th, 2006.
Produce grant application form, post on website, and mail to interested parties by January 30th, 2007.
Coordinate, review, and award grants by May 30, 2007
Technical Support
Identify resources and secure additional financial and programmatic resources for watershed stewardship.
Maintain and coordinate calendars of watershed activities.
Assist in the implementation of public involvement activities for priority watershed areas.
Assist in the development of enhancement projects for priority watershed areas.
Provide technical and administrative assistance to Environmental Program Coordinator.
Develop publicity events and media coverage
Act as liaison between PSU and BES.
Provide GIS services to prepare maps for Naturescaping for Clean Rivers Program.
Partnership Implementation and Coordination
Provide assistance to Watershed Stewardship Grantees.
Meet weekly with BES staff and Americorps volunteers to coordinate partnership activities.
Meet regularly with BES and community partners.
Provide documentation on program activities completed by faculty, graduate research assistants, and student workers.
Assist in partnership evaluation and report of activities.
Portland State Adjunct Faculty will perform the following:
Planning
• Develop two-year CWSP Outreach Plan to increase the number of applicants for CWSP grant dollars for stormwater projects.
• Work with GRA and Americorps members to implement year-one of the CWSP Outreach Plan to increase grant requests for application deadline in spring 2007.
Training
• Train new GRA in all aspects of the CWSP program.
• Train GRA and Americorps members to work with PSU interns to implement year-two of the CWSP Outreach Plan.
Education
• Produce new supporting materials for the CWSP program for print and electronic distribution.
