ORDINANCE No. 179887
Authorize lease for office space for the Bureau of Environmental Services Tanner 3 Sewer Separation project (Ordinance)
The City of Portland ordains:
1. The Tanner 3 Sewer Separation project is scheduled to begin in March, 2006. This project consisting of sewer construction work will include installation of conduits.
2. The project involves close coordination with the Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT). The work will involve areas on Highway 26 from Sylvan to the Zoo Interchange to the Jefferson Tunnel. ODOT requires BES staff be located as near as possible to the ODOT office and yard at SW Scholls Ferry Road and SW Camelot and Highway 26.
3. The City of Portland neither owns nor leases any suitable property in this area. ODOT does not have suitable property available for City use.
4. Suitable space is available at 5319 SW Westgate Drive, a privately-owned building at the Sylvan Interchange at Highway 26. The space is competitively priced and will be available for the time period required by the Tanner 3 Sewer Separation project.
5. Delay in obtaining a lease for suitable space will negatively impact the Tanner 3 Sewer Separation project, in both costs and in performing the project work efficiently.
NOW, THEREFORE, the Council directs:
a. The Chief Administrator Officer, or his designee, is authorized to sign a lease agreement between the City of Portland and American Property Management Corp., owner/manager of 5319 SW Westgate Drive.
