ORDINANCE NO. 179857

Authorize contract and provide for payment for The Portland Building Ecoroof project (Ordinance)

The City of Portland ordains:

Section 1.  The Council finds:

1.  The Portland Building Ecoroof project is estimated to be $580,000. The construction estimate is within the budget.

2.  The Ecoroof project meets the requirements of the Greenbuilding Policy adopted by City Council. The design services were conducted by MacDonald Environmental Planning using the most current vegetated roof system technology.

3.  The design for The Portland Building Ecoroof project is complete. The construction documents for The Portland Building Ecoroof project have been prepared and are ready to go out to bid.

NOW THEREFORE, the Council directs:

a.  The Mayor and the Auditor are hereby authorized to execute a contract with the lowest, responsive and responsible bidder for The Portland Building Ecoroof project in accordance with the plans and specifications to be filed with the Purchasing Agent.

b.  The Mayor and the Auditor hereby are authorized to draw and deliver check(s) chargeable to the 2005-2006 fiscal year budget, when demand is presented and approved by the proper authorities.
