ORDINANCE No. 179066
* Accept the Intergovernmental Agreement with Multnomah Department of Human Services’ Area Agency on Aging, for the period July 1, 2004 through June 30, 2005 (Ordinance; amend Ordinance No. 178916)
The City of Portland ordains:
Section 1. The Council finds:
1. Contract #32024 (County Contract #0400329) was originally entered into on July 1, 1998, with Multnomah County to provide support for the AAA, and authorized by Ordinance #172794. This long standing Agreement requires updating annually to specify budget appropriation.
2. On December 1, 2004, Ordinance #178916 was passed by Council, amending the original contract.
3. The amendment was actually a new contract (County Contract #0405138), providing for funds in the amount of $623,190 to Multnomah County for the period July 1, 2004, through June 30, 2005, for support of the Area Agency on Aging for Portland/Multnomah County. The funds shall continue to be used for District Senior Center related services and senior center development.
NOW, THEREFORE, the Council directs:
a. That the Mayor and the Auditor are authorized to accept Multnomah Contract #0405138 on behalf of the City, with Multnomah County for the joint funding of AAA.
Section 2. The City Council declares that an emergency exists due to the desire of the County to continue this relationship effective July 1, 2004; therefore, this Ordinance shall be in force and effect from and after its passage by Council.
