ORDINANCE NO. 179030
*Authorize an Intergovernmental Agreement with the Multnomah County District to reimburse the City for equipment purchases related to child abuse investigations (Ordinance)
The City of Portland ordains:
Section 1. The Council finds:
1. The CAMI Grant provides funding from the Child Abuse Multidisciplinary Intervention Account to the Multnomah County District Attorney’s Office in accordance with the grant application and awards.
2. The City provides detectives to investigates reports of child abuse.
3. The MCDA agrees to reimburse, from CAMI funds, the Police Bureau the amount paid for three personal computers and one fax machine to be used in child abuse investigations.
4. The maximum reimbursement to the Police Bureau under this agreement is $4,900.
NOW, therefore, the Council directs:
a. The Mayor and City Auditor are hereby authorized to enter into the agreement with the Multnomah County District Attorney’s Office as detailed in the attached Multnomah County Contract No. 4600005219.
Section 2. The Council declares that an emergency exists because delay in proceeding with this agreement will unnecessarily deprive the City of Portland and the Multnomah County District Attorney’s Office of the mutual benefits of this agreement; therefore this ordinance shall be in force and effect from and after its passage by the Council.
