RESOLUTION No. 36269
Support the annexation of a parcel of land by Tualatin Valley Water District (Resolution)
WHEREAS, the Bureau of Water Works seeks to rationalize its service boundaries and avoid the need for costly duplicate infrastructure; and
WHEREAS, the parcel proposed to be annexed, described fully in Exhibit A, lies in an area where the Bureau of Water Works has no distribution mains and Tualatin Valley Water District has distribution mains; and
WHEREAS, the Bureau of Water Works does not intend to extend mains into this area; and
WHEREAS, the parcel proposed to be annexed, described fully in Exhibit A, lies in a small and irregular area of the City located to the west of the Multnomah-Washington County and represents an anomaly in the City’s westerly boundary which generally runs along the Multnomah-Washington county line; and
WHEREAS, Tualatin Valley Water District has stated their desire to serve this area and has requested by letter (Exhibit B) that the City support its annexation of the parcel described in Exhibit A.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council offers its support to the annexation of the parcel described in Exhibit A to Tualatin Valley Water District; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, the Bureau of Water Works communicate this resolution upon its passage to the Tualatin Valley Water District.
