ORDINANCE NO. 179016
*Amend contract with Washington County Sheriff to provide Portland Police Data System access to the King City Police (Ordinance; amend Contract No. 51817)
The City of Portland ordains:
Section 1. The Council finds:
1. The City has the capability to provide access to the Portland Police Data System (PPDS) and associated services to law enforcement agencies.
2. The City began providing this access to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO) in July of 1991.
3. The King City Police desire access to PPDS. This agreement allows WCSO to provide PPDS access to the King City Police through the WCSO data system for an additional fee of $300 per month plus a one time setup fee of $1,500. The fee increases cover the City’s expenses related to providing the services.
4. The agreement with the Washington County Sheriff expires June 30, 2007.
NOW, therefore, the Council directs:
a. The Mayor and City Auditor are hereby authorized to amend contract #51817 between the City of Portland and the Washington County Sheriff, to allow access by the King City Police as described in Amendment #2 to contract 51817 Bearing the notation CA 04-1291 and COP #51817.
Section 2. The Council declares that an emergency exists because delay in proceeding with this agreement will delay PPDS access to the King City Police; therefore this ordinance shall be in force and effect from and after its passage by the Council.
