SUBJECT:  Adjusting the compensation level of a Nonrepresented Classification – Energy Conservation Program Manager

 

 

The attached Ordinance adjusts the compensation level of the Nonrepresented classification of Energy Conservation Program Manager. This adjustment is necessary in order for the Office of Sustainable Development (OSD) to consolidate the management of the Energy and Green Building Divisions under one, instead of two, managers.

 

Background

OSD has reorganized along functional lines, which has resulted in the consolidation of the Energy and Green Building Divisions under a single Energy Conservation Program Manager where previously there were two. This action raises the compensation of the classification to a range consistent with that of other classifications with comparable responsibilities within OSD and other City bureaus.

 

There is no increased cost in salary and benefits for this compensation action. The position already exists in the current budget and the salary of the incumbent will not change as a result of this action.

 

Recommendation

 

I recommend that the Mayor and City Council approve the creation of this new classification.
