RESOLUTION No. 36232

Appoint Gwenn Baldwin to the Citizen Review Committee for Independent Police Review for a term to expire December 3, 2004 (Resolution)

WHEREAS, the City Council adopted Ordinance 175652, June 6, 2001, establishing the Independent Police Review Division and the Citizen Review Committee;

WHEREAS, a nine-member Citizen Review Committee is responsible for ensuring impartial hearings of appeals, participating in public outreach efforts, and providing an advisory role to the Independent Police Review Division;

WHEREAS, the committee has a current vacancy;

WHEREAS, the Mayor has recommended a new member to fill out the term of a resigning member who had previously been recommended by the Mayor;

WHEREAS, the Auditor nominated this new member to Council;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council for the City of Portland, Oregon appoints to the Citizen Review Committee Gwenn Baldwin to replace Sidney Lezak for a term to expire December 3, 2004.
