RESOLUTION No. 36222

Direct City Attorney to withdraw unfair labor practice complaints against the Portland Police Association (Resolution).

WHEREAS, the City of Portland and the Portland Police Association have engaged in the dispute resolution process under the Public Employees Collective Bargaining Act (PECBA), including interest arbitration under ORS 243.742-243.756;

WHEREAS, the arbitrator has issued an award which adopted the Association’s Last Best Offer package;

WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the City and the members of its police force to conclude the bargaining process and implement the arbitration award;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Attorney is authorized to withdraw its unfair labor practice complaints against the Portland Police Association related to the bargaining process for the collective bargaining agreement effective July 1, 2002 – June 30, 2005.
