ORDINANCE No. 178161
*Authorize an agreement with Oregon Association of Clean Water Agencies to provide laboratory analytical services (Ordinance)
The City of Portland ordains:
Section 1. The Council finds:
1. The Goal of this Agreement is to provide laboratory analytical services for ACWA by the City of Portland.
2. ACWA is coordinating a study involving eleven jurisdictions to evaluate the effectiveness of various Best Management Practices to treat and/or prevent stormwater contamination in accordance with OAR 340-44;
3. The purpose of this Agreement is to detail the responsibilities, compensation and services to be provided by each party.
NOW, THEREFORE, the council directs:
a. The Bureau Director and Auditor are authorized to execute a contract with ACWA for the purpose described in Section 1, in the amount of $25,000 through June 30, 2005.
b. The Mayor and Auditor are hereby authorized to accept approximately $25,000 for revenues in the Bureau of Environmental Services Sewer Operating Fund from ACWA for the City of Portland providing laboratory analytical services.
Section 2. The Council declares that an emergency exists because the City of Portland is ready to provide services to ACWA in a timely manner and ACWA is ready to pay for services of the City of Portland. Therefore, this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage by the Council.
