ORDINANCE No. 178139

*Authorize addendum to contract with Michael Metroke, for outside counsel assistance (Ordinance; amend Contract No. 34972)

The City of Portland ordains:

Section 1.  The Council finds:

1.  A Contracts Consultant was required to provide advice and assistance to the City Attorney's Office in regard to the negotiation of a contract with the vendor chosen to operate the City's new Computer Information System (CIS).

2.  Michael Metroke, attorney, entered into Legal Service Agreement No. 34972 to provide these services.

3.  It is necessary to increase the amount of the agreement to provide payment for continued work on this project in the amount of $15,000.

NOW, THEREFORE, the Council directs:

a.  The City Attorney is authorized to enter into an Addendum to Legal Services Agreement No. 34972 to provide for such legal services in the amount not to exceed $75,000.

b.  If applicable, the provisions of City Code Chapter 5.68 are waived.

c.  The Mayor and Auditor are authorized to draw and deliver warrants in payment of legal services provided under this Legal Services Agreement chargeable to the Office of Management and Finance.

Section 2.  The Council declares that an emergency exists in order to pay for legal services necessary in the matter of the City’s Computer Information System; therefore, this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage by the Council.
