ORDINANCE NO. 178134
Authorize a contract and provide payment for the construction of improvements at the Stephenson Pump Station site. (Ordinance)
The City of Portland ordains:
Section 1. The Council finds:
1. The Bureau of Water Works requires the construction of the Stephenson Pump Station Improvements in order to provide fire flows at all levels of demand and to correct pump suction pressure problems at the existing pump station.
2. The Engineer’s estimate for this project is $925,000, allocated for FY03-04 and FY04-05.
3. Appropriations for the construction of the project are included in the Bureau’s FY03-04 and FY04-05 Capital Improvement Program.
NOW, THEREFORE, The Council directs:
a. That the Commissioner of Public Affairs and Auditor are authorized to execute on behalf of the City a contract with the lowest responsive and responsible bidder for the project described in Section 1 hereof, in accordance with the plans and specifications on file with the Purchasing Agent.
b. The Mayor and the Auditor hereby are authorized to draw and deliver checks chargeable to the FY03-04 and FY04-05 Budget, Water Fund, Account 567000, Project 3379, Center Code 18089917, when demand is presented and approved by the proper authorities.
