ORDINANCE No. 178130

*Amend contract with Mayer/Reed for interpretive signage design work to extend contract and increase contract amount. (Ordinance; Amend Contract No. 34703)

The City of Portland ordains:

Section 1. The Council finds:

1.  The recently opened Springwater on the Willamette multi-use trail has been enormously popular. As use increases, so does the need for information about trail linkages, the adjacent wildlife refuge, and the Willamette River. Portland Parks & Recreation has contracted with Mayer/Reed to develop a set of interpretive and map signs for the trail.

2.  This contract, number 34703, in the amount of $16,175.00, has had one previous amendment that increased the contract amount $2,940.00 for a total contract amount of $19,115.00. This contract must again be amended to pay for additional sign content research and to extend the duration of the contract. The increase in the contract amount is $1,200.00, which takes the new contract total to just over 25 percent of the original contract amount.

3.  Funds are available in the Parks Construction Fund, center code 76640955.

NOW, THEREFORE, the Council directs:

a.  The Purchasing Agent is authorized to execute the contract amendment with Mayer/Reed, attached as Exhibit A.

b.  The Mayor and Auditor are authorized to draw and deliver warrants from the Parks Construction Fund, for a revised amount not to exceed $19,115.00, in accordance with this contract.

Section 2.  The Council declares an emergency exists because of the need to complete the project and allow residents the enjoyment of these improvements; therefore, this Ordinance shall be in force and effect from and after its passage by Council.
