Subject: 2/15 PCEF Committee meeting agenda and materials
Hi PCEF Committee,
I hope you’re all doing well. We look forward to seeing you all tomorrow for our first hybrid meeting in a while (note that the in-person location is at Open Signal off NE MLK and Graham St). Below are some relevant materials and context for the meeting:
- 2/14/24 PCEF Committee meeting agenda (linked here)
- Note that the last item of the agenda is where we’ll talk about some Committee liaison and subcommittee assignments. We don’t expect you all to make a decision in this meeting but would like you all to start thinking about the various Committee roles we need to fill so that you can make assignments in the next meeting:
-
i. Equitable Tree Canopy Workgroup (associated with SP8 from CIP): we need one Committee member to be the liaison with the Equitable Tree Canopy Workgroup which we are currently recruiting for. While we expect that will mean attending the ETC Workgroup meetings, it will be up to the ETC Workgroup and Committee liaison to define how they work together.
ii. Federal funding match workgroup (associated with SP 15: Federal climate and equity funding opportunities): we need one Committee member that will be part of a workgroup with PCEF, Climate, Government Relations, and Office of Management & Finance staff that will review match funding requests from City bureaus. This is an ongoing workgroup.
iii. Recruitment subcommittee: we need 2-3 Committee members to review and recommend a new Committee member to replace Michael. This is short term and will likely involve a review of applications, 3-4 meetings, and possibly interviews.
- 2/14/24 PCEF Committee meeting draft slide deck (linked here)
- Happy hour between the PCEF High Roads Advisory Council and PCEF Committee:
- During our last High Roads Advisory Council meeting (with Ranfis present), folks on the Council expressed a desire for a happy hour with the PCEF Committee. As we’ve heard similar desires for the PCEF Committee to connect informally, we thought it was a good idea to bring you all together. Please take a look at the Doodle poll linked here by Tuesday 2/20, and let us know if there are any dates that work for you.
-
- PCEF Committee member recruitment update:
- We received only a handful of applications for the PCEF Committee to replace Micheal so we are extending the PCEF Committee recruitment through March 6th. We will do more outreach over the next couple weeks, but please let us know if you have suggestions for individuals we should connect with directly.
-
- Grant review panels: We’re making a last call for PCEF Committee members to join grant review panels for RFP #3. Please email Rachel by COB Friday, 2/16 if you’re interested. Rachel’s prior email can be found here describing the work.
- Megan and Commissioner Rubio email: Last week Megan emailed the Commissioner in response to the news on the interest and asked that I shared the communication with the Committee (linked here)
