Hello Gage,

I have one question perhaps you could review before Monday. The City uses OSHA’s 4-digit Standard Industrial Classification Codes to describe operations at a particular site. Based on my knowledge of your site, I suspect Standard Steel’s SIC code might be 5051-Metal Service Centers and possibly 3499-Fabricated Metal Products? Can you please review these codes and let me know if you agree or not? Click on the links for a description of the codes.

Thank you.

Hello Gage – I understand about inventory so we will plan to come by Monday, March 14, at 11:00. If you could shoot me your cell phone number, we will let you know when we arrive. Melanie and I will both be wearing a mask and would appreciate if you could as well. Thank you, Courtney, for helping to coordinate.

Thanks!

Hey Kathy I spoke with our superintendent and we are in the middle of planning for a companywide inventory this weekend. Is there any way you could come early in the week next week instead?

Hello Courtney,

Larry just gave me your email to get in contact with you about your site’s stormwater. The City has been tasked by the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) to eliminate pollutants in stormwater that reach the Columbia Slough via City-owned stormwater outfalls. The City needs to inspect your site as part of an area-wide evaluation of stormwater that discharges to the City’s storm sewer system and ultimately to the Columbia Slough via the City’s outfall pipe.

My colleague, Melanie Roy, and I need to look at the stormwater features on your site (example: catch basins, swales, trench drains, sheet flow to the street etc.) and evaluate the industrial activities and materials stored in areas exposed to stormwater that would discharge to the Slough.

Can you or someone else escort us around your site tomorrow? Would 11:00 work?

Thank you in advance,

Kathy Balogh
