ORDINANCE NO. 177131

* Contract with Browning Shono Architects for architectural services for the ground floor renovation of the 10^th and Yamhill Parking Garage (Ordinance)

The City of Portland ordains:

Section 1.  The Council finds:

1.  The Bureau of General Services requires architectural services for the ground renovation of the 10^th and Yamhill Parking Garage.

2.  The site is located in the downtown block between Yamhill and Morrison Streets and 9^th and 10^th Avenues.

3.  A Request for Proposals for an architectural consultant was issued on October 21, 2002. Seven proposals were received on November 14, 2002. A selection committee reviewed the proposals and recommended contract award to Browning Shono Architects, the highest scoring Proposer.

4.  The Bureau of General Services has prepared an agreement in the amount of $32,039 to be entered into with Browning Shono Architects that has been signed by the architect and approved as to form by the City Attorney (Attachment No. 1).

NOW THEREFORE, the Council directs:

a.  The Mayor and the Auditor are hereby authorized to execute the contract, attached hereto as Attachment No. 1, with Browning Shono Architects to provide architectural services for the ground floor renovation of the 10^th and Yamhill Parking Garage for the amount of $32,039.

b.  The Mayor and the Auditor are hereby authorized to draw and deliver check(s) chargeable to the 2002-2003 budget of Facilities Services when demand is presented and approved by the proper authorities.

Section 2.  

The Council declares that an emergency exists because a delay may result in additional expense, and will unnecessarily deprive the City of the benefits of completion of the contract at an early date; therefore this ordinance shall be in force and effect from and after its passage by the Council.
