ORDINANCE No. 177115

* Extend term and appropriate funding for contract with Tetra Tech/CMI, Inc. to supply qualified construction management, inspection and project support personnel (Ordinance; amend Contract No. 33996)

The City of Portland ordains:

Section 1.  The Council finds:

1.  Ordinance No. 176144 authorized an agreement with Tetra Tech/CMI, Inc. to supply qualified construction management, inspection and project support personnel to the Bureau of Environmental Services.

2.  Contract No. 33996 between the City of Portland and TETRA TECH/CMI, Inc. provides that the City shall have the sole option to extend the contract on a calendar year basis until December 31, 2004.

3.  Under Contract No. 33996 a not to exceed limit is established each calendar year and services are billed on an hourly basis.

 3.  The established cost is $300,000.00 for calendar year 2003. Funds are available in the Sewer System Operating Fund, FY 2002-03 Budget, Bureau of Environmental Services, and will be requested in the FY 2003-04 budget.

NOW, THEREFORE, the council directs:

 a.  The Bureau Director and Auditor are authorized to execute a contract amendment with Tetra Tech/CMI, Inc. for the purpose described in Section 1, in the amount of $300,000.00.

 b.  The Mayor and Auditor are hereby authorized to draw and deliver warrants chargeable to the Sewer System Operating Fund Budget when demand is presented and approved by the proper authority.

Section 2: The Council declares that an emergency exists because the contract needs to take immediate effect in order for the Bureau to have access to construction management and inspection services for projects currently under construction. The existing contract expires on December 31, 2002. Therefore this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage by the Council.
