ORDINANCE No. 177087

*Authorize Contract with Innovative Care Management, Inc. for health care management services. (Ordinance)

The City of Portland ordains:

Section 1. The Council finds:

1.  The Office of Management and Finance entered into Contract No. 31215 with Innovative Care Management, Inc. in June 1997 for the provision of health care management services.

2.  A consultant selection process, in accordance with Section 5.68 of the City Code, is currently underway.

3.  In order that critical services not be disrupted pending completion of the consultant selection process and implementation of a contract with the selected consultant, it is prudent and in the City’s best interests to continue its relationship with Innovative Care Management.

4.  The Health Fund’s FY 2002-03 includes appropriation in support of the health care management services contract.

NOW, THEREFORE, the Council directs:

a.  The Mayor and Auditor are hereby authorized to execute the Contract, attached hereto as Exhibit A.

b.  The Mayor and Auditor are hereby authorized to draw and deliver warrants not to exceed $83,335.

Section 2. The Council declares that an emergency exists in order that there be no delay

in health care management services; therefore,this Ordinance shall be in force and

effect from and after its passage by the Council.
