ORDINANCE NO. 177081

*  Transfer the taxicab company permit of Broadway Cab, Inc. to TSB Acquisition LLC (Ordinance)

The City of Portland ordains:

Section 1. The Council finds:

 1.  The Oregon Legislature has authorized Oregon municipalities to regulate taxicabs and other vehicles for hire to assure safe and reliable service. ORS 221.495.

2.  Council passed Ordinance No. 165947 October 1992 revising Taxicab Regulations, including rules for transferring taxicab company permits from one legal entity to another by ordinance. PCC 16.40.210.B.1.

3.  The City may inquire into the technical, legal, and financial qualifications of the prospective party. PCC 16.40.210.B.2.

4.  TSB Acquisition LLC has notified the Bureau of Licenses by application and supplemental information that TSB Acquisition LLC has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire the stock of Broadway Cab, Inc.

5.  The Bureau of Licenses has reviewed the records of TSB Acquisition LLC and Broadway Cab, Inc., and determined that TSB Acquisition LLC meets all technical, legal and financial qualifications as required by City Code. (Exhibit A)

NOW, THEREFORE, The Council directs:

a.  Transfer of the taxicab company permit of Broadway Cab, Inc. to TSB Acquisition LLC.

Section 2. The Council declares that an emergency exists in order to ensure the protection of the public safety and welfare and uninterrupted transportation services provided by Broadway Cab, Inc.; therefore, this ordinance shall be in force and effect from and after its passage by Council.
