*Authorize an Intergovernmental Agreement with The Washington State Patrol and the Police
Bureau to provide Emergency Vehicle Operation training to Oregon Police Corps cadets
(Ordinance)
The City of Portland ordains:
Section 1. The Council finds:
1. The Oregon Police Corps cadets must receive training in the operation of emergency vehicles.
2. The Washington State Patrol is recognized for their emergency vehicle operation training.
3. The WSP is willing to provide this training on November 16 and 17, 2002 at their facility.
4. Compensation to the WSP under this agreement is not to exceed $1,950.
NOW, therefore, the Council directs:
a. The Mayor and the Auditor are hereby authorized to accept the agreement for services between the City of Portland, Police Bureau, Police Corps Division, and the Washington State Patrol as stated in the agreement attached as Exhibit A.
Section 2. The Council declares that an emergency exists because delay in proceeding with this agreement will unnecessarily deprive the Oregon Police Corps and the Washington State Patrol of the mutual benefits of this agreement; therefore this ordinance shall be in force and effect from and after its passage by the Council.
